We all do it.
We vow to ourselves that we’ll commit to being healthier at the end of every year.
It’s a hard commitment.
What I’ve learned about prioritizing my health is that it’s all about planning and prep.
When I prep foods to eat throughout the week, I actually eat them!
When I schedule my workouts into my days and put them on my calendar, I actually do them.
When I plan anything, I generally keep up with it better than if I hadn’t planned at all.
Why not set yourself up and save these healthy recipes to kick off your 2021.
They range from salads, to proteins to desserts, and can be cooked in a number of ways like a pressure cooker, or air fryer.
Enjoy these recipes, and be sure to pin them for later!
How to make Shakshuka
Eggs poached in tomato sauce makes a flavorful, and easy breakfast. Start your year with this Shakshuka. Keep tit plain with spices, or add feta for a little bite.
Chopped Kale Salad Recipe
Kale salads are my favorite. They're nutrient-dense, filling and fully of fiber. This salad includes kale, olives, pepitas, tomatoes, red onion and chickpeas for a delicious and satisfying dish.
Wedge Salad
Wedge salads are simple, delicious, and you can put your spin on it however you would like. With just 4 ingredients, this is an easy salad to add to your rotation.
Kale Caprese Salad
Another kale option, but a take on Caprese salad. Make my spicy chimichurri sauce alongside this salad for a plant-based bite.
Massaged Kale salad with goat cheese and pomegranates
This salad screams colorful and uses in-season ingredients that are still available and accessible at the early end of the year. The combination of tangy goat cheese and sweet pomegranate are unforgettable.
Brussels Sprout Salad
Brussels sprouts, bacon and a dijon dressing are a really delicious combo. You'll actually be surprised by how delicious raw Brussels sprouts are.
Brussels Sprouts, Butternut Squash, Bacon Salad.
Another brussels sprouts recipe, but this time cooked. The same magical combination of the triple B's with butternut squash added.
Chicken Enchilada Soup
You can use as much or as little pasta as you'd like in this dish, but it is a wonderfully flavorful soup. You can also cook a whole chicken in under an hour with this recipe.
Pan-Roasted Chicken thighs and creamed spinach
A hangrywoman.com favorite, my pan roasted chicken thighs and creamed spinach recipe is always a home run with juicy, flavorful chicken thighs. It's a one-pan dish, too!
Pressure Cooker Whole Chicken
If you've got a pressure cooker and 45 minutes, you can make chicken for an entire week with this recipe. Use any flavor combinations you'd like. The method is awesome and a huge time and money saver.
Extra Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings
WIngs are little gems. These berbere spiced wings are crispy and made with very little oil in the air fryer.
Low carb Indian butter chicken
Butter chicken is spicy, flavorful and it falls apart so effortlessly. Pair it with cilantro cauliflower rice!
Grilled spatchco*cked peach glazed chicken recipe
If you love to grill, bust yours out for some spatchco*cked chicken. Crispy skin, great grilled flavor, and a nice peach jam to glaze it!
Keto Lemon Pound Cake
Looking for a sweet option? The lemon loaf is just like my favorite Starbucks version. It's low carb and keep well for a little sweet snack!
Low Carb Lemon Bars
Another lemon treat! My lemon bars are so tart and delicious. The delicious custard paired with a low carb crust is the perfect combo.
Greek-style pan-roasted chicken
This is one recipe my husband asks for over and over again. With olive oil, lots of lemon and oregano, these simple flavors make a great chicken. Add your veggies of choice!
Garlic butter steak bites
Garlic, butter, and steak - what more could you ask for?
Keto Friendly Copycat Chipotle Steak Burrito Bowl
If you like Chipotle, you can actually make your own version of their steak bowl at home. You can use that garlic butter steak recipes above for inspiration!
