The Michigan Wolverines had a season for the history books last year: they racked up a perfect 15–0 record, won their first national championship since 1997, beat Ohio State, and had a school-record 13 players selected in the NFL Draft. But if this year’s Wolverines want to come close to last season’s successes, they’ll need more than a few good breaks.
Between hiring a new head coach in former offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore, replacing multiple starters, and beginning their first year in the jumbo-sized Big Ten, this year’s Michigan squad will have to overcome a mountain of challenges to reach the postseason. Michigan Wolverines football schedule 2024
Michigan football will look a lot different for longtime fans this fall. Michigan’s non-conference schedule will be anchored by a huge matchup with College Football Playoff runner-up Texas. The Wolverines will also enter their first year of play in the jumbo-sized Big Ten. In addition to home games against Oregon and USC, they’ll head to Seattle in October for a national championship rematch against Washington.
And in case that all wasn’t enough, 2024 will also be the inaugural year for the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff. But if running back Donovan Edwards and a potentially reloaded defense can provide enough of a safety net for whoever ends up under center for the Wolverines, Michigan could potentially return to the postseason.
